Current projects & plansYou told us you were concerned about speeding:![]() Berryfields and Watermead Parish Councils have purchased an MVAS (Mobile Vehicle Activated Sign) to record speeding drivers which will be placed in strategic sites in the villages.
![]() OUR SENTINEL SPEEDWATCH DEVICE IS FREQUENTLY DEPLOYED IN VARIOUS LOCATIONS IN BERRYFIELDS. SPEEDERS ARE REPORTED TO THE POLICE!
VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED! Community Speedwatch is a scheme giving villages a hand held speeding device provided by the Police which a team of volunteers will operate in areas where speeds are excessive. The device transmits data to the Police who will send a letter to first offenders, and follow up with a decision on prosecution after second and subsequent reports. This is another valuable tool in the fight against speeding. We hope that these initiatives will help us control speeding in the Parish. We have volunteers but if you would like to join the team please let us know. COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERINGVOLUNTEERS ARE ALWAYS NEEDED TO HELP WITH EVENTS, DELIVERING LEAFLETS, SPEEDWATCH, LITTER PICKS AND MUCH MORE. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO GET INVOLVED IN THE COMMUNITY, OR ORGANISE AN EVENT FOR THE COMMUNITY THE PARISH COUNCIL WILL APPRECIATE YOUR HELP.
parish council LAND can be used for approved events with no charge for charities. however the land use policy applies and you must contact the parish office to obtain permission prior to any arrangements being made. |
LATEST NEWS ON ROMAN PARKwork at roman park was interrupted by covid-19. immediately before lockdown the nursery building was delivered and we hope that work will start soon on its conversion so that it can be handed over to big top nursery and open as a much-needed facility for families in berryfields.
the temporary village hall will be delivered to site, subject to national conditions, late in september giving us a much-needed facility for community use as soon as such use is permitted. The main village hall build is scheduled to start very soon. Construction is likely to take around 18 to 24 months. Tennis courts, bowls and all weather surface, kiosk, allotment office, mound, central avenue, roman road replica and tree planting, community orchard and creation of the wild areas will commence as soon as funds and plans are fully in place. ![]()
